This annual awards program recognizes staff, volunteers and community partners for their commitment in supporting the success of students and schools.
The Washington School Counselor Association awarded PSD Counselor on Special Assignment Nicole Kaiser the 2024 WSCA District Director/Administrator Award.
Puyallup High Journalism Teacher Sandra Coyer will serve a two-year term as director-at-large on the Journalism Education Association (JEA) Board from 2024-26.
The Washington State Board of Education is accepting applications through March 29 from current sophomores to serve as the student rep for the 2024-26 term.
PSD students and staff will participate in the lahar drill by evacuating or sheltering in place, depending on their location in the valley or on the hill.

Save the date and join us on March 19 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. for our Multilingual Recruitment and Information Fair at Karshner Elementary, 1328 8th Ave. NW.
The event will feature information about dual language and multilingual teacher, paraeducator, and interpreter positions and pathways.
Several college/university program representatives will be available to share information about their English Language Learner and Dual Language programs, including adding endorsements.
Be sure to bring your resume to share. On-site interviews may be offered!

Session Details

In partnership with School's Out Washington, each session will provide various resources for refugee families, including:
- Basic and financial needs
- Student tutoring
- Adult English-Language classes for adults and career support
We will host the sessions on Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m. on the following dates:
- March 9, 23, and 30
- April 6, 20 and 27
- May 4, 11 and 18
Potluck Celebration
On June 1, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Edgemont, we will host a potluck celebrating our refugee families.

What is Ready! For Kindergarten?
The READY! for Kindergarten school readiness program empowers parents and caregivers to succeed in their role as their children’s first and most influential teachers. The program provides tools and activities to optimize the natural curiosity of children and to nurture learning and development.

More Information About the Workshop
We hope you’ll join our workshop facilitators for one of these orientation presentations and distribution of the three seasonal kits** to work with your child as they prepare for kindergarten next fall. You will be given access to three online self-paced workshops as well as sign up for in-person workshops for each seasonal kit.
Will There Be Childcare Available?
FREE childcare will be provided for ages 3 years - 12 years.
